Walker High School Sports Camps

Walker High School is host to a variety of sports camps for children of all ages. With their brand new school and athletic facilities, they offer state-of-the-art equipment to learn the basic skills of sports. Football camps and coed basketball camps are available for children first through eighth grade. Middle school kids can attend Junior Lifters Strength and Speed Club which offers a variety of dates and workouts through the summer. They also offer a wrestling camp for boys and girls in grades K-12. Soccer coed camp is offered for ages 3-12. Beginning at nine years, three different disciplines are available for baseball players, and softball camp is great for young girls. Prepare your little one for elementary school tryouts with volleyball camp, or learn a completely new skill with golf camp. There is something for everyone at Walker High’s sports camps this summer!

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School has been a family favorite for years. Offered at various churches through the summer, this is always a great experience for elementary school aged children at Judson Baptist Church and 3 years – 8th grade for Walker Baptist Church. VBS offers religion based activities where your children can learn about the Bible, sing new songs, get creative with art projects, and more. Other churches hosting Vacation Bible School include Agape Baptist Church, The Way Church of Denham Springs, Open Door Baptist, and many more. VBS is typically only for the first half of the day, so you will need to make plans to have children picked up around lunch.

Kids Music Camp

Another church activity this summer is Kids Music Camp at Open Door Baptist Church. Children can learn music, create crafts, and play games for two and a half hours each day. There are two groups for this camp beginning at ages 4-5 and the second group for grades 1-6. This camp offers something different for children located right in the heart of Denham Springs. On the Sunday following the week of camp, the camp goers can perform the music they learned. This is a great community event that will be sure to keep little ones learning new things!

PARDS Kids Camp

PARDS Kids Camp is a very popular summer camp for children in Livingston Parish. It is the only summer-long camp in Livingston Parish, and children absolutely love it! From 9-3 each day, children can do a wide variety of activities. Some favorite activities include a dino experience, cooking class, and ceramics and crafts. While activities are from 9-3 each day, the camp is open from 6:30 am – 6 pm, so this is great for working parents. Though registration for this summer may have already passed, PARDS offers this camp every summer, so you can always try next year.
